A dedicated tree becomes a living, growing 'statue' planted in a special place known to those who gave it, and is seen by many who may know nothing of its history but enjoy its benefits.

A tree planted "in honor of ______________” or “in memory of ______________” may be placed (with prior approval) in a park, school ground or in the landscaping of a public building. 

Why not in a place of quiet remembrance in one's own backyard?
 
A tree planted on a wedding or anniversary date commemorates that special day for years to come.

A tree planted for the birth of a child makes it "their tree" and an annual photo of both keeps a visual record of their growth.

We encourage such memorial programs through education on the value of trees in our environment.  We work with our city parks department, businesses and institutions to connect them with possible donors. 

TREE LODI grows trees that we provide free to the public through an annual application process.
    
We teach tree care to make sure that the donor's tree gets a healthy start and (where appropriate) we monitor their trees for tree problems.
